ABOUT ME:
How did you get into DJing weddings?
I was always the music guy. I played in bands growing up. I DJ'd a punk rock radio show when I was in college. Going from physical media to digital files, I was that friend that had 25,000 songs on his iPod, meticulously organized. I was curating party playlists and getting into DJ'ing when my own friends started getting married, it was a natural fit. I did my first wedding in 2011 and started growing. Going from friends to word-of-mouth recommendations to working regularly. Its one of those shifts you don't see happening and one day you look around and go "oh, I'm doing this for real. I guess I do this now."
What makes you different?
Its not even about me. Its really about YOU. With any wedding, your group will show up with an expectation. They know they'll hear Bruno Mars or Pitbull or whatever so they show up ready to dance to those songs. While thats true, you also want to blow their minds by personalizing it to push it over the top.

I always ask everybody I work with when they graduated high school because I want to know when they were in 8th grade! The human experience of self-expression and individuation happens for all of us at 13 or 14 and its universally true, wherever you are for that moment will be your music for the rest of your life. Nothing will ever hit you the way your music from 8th grade hits! My approach is all about connecting to that spot and blending that together with guest expectations & greatest hits.
Do you do custom edits?
I do. I love doing that stuff because I know its going to create something special. It becomes individualized and nobody else will ever have that same experience. All of this pre-work is included in what I do. Its how I approach the event as part of the team, use my skills to make it memorable!
Pricing - What packages do you have?
I don't have different packages. I don't book by the hour. I think about it as "all in" When we book I'm yours for the day. If you want to have a wedding ceremony at 9am and then play yard games all afternoon, we can do that! (I did that once. It was awesome!) If you want to start dancing at 7pm and go until 2am we can do that (I'll try to talk you out of this. I think its a pretty terrible idea and everybody will start losing energy like 3 hours in, but we can cross that bridge when we get there haha) Lets create something that works for both of us and don't feel restricted to a certain time frame. Its about the entire day.
Music - Whats your favorite song?
I'm all over the place. I was raised by punk rock & hip hop, I love The Beatles and Outkast. I will never turn down Taylor Swift. If I'm playing out and its dealers choice, not a wedding, and I get to do my own thing for the night I'm playing old funk, soul, garage, and native tongues era hip hop. There's a cool vibration and rhythm there that can exist parallel to the event without the crowd having to be conscious of it. I love playing in that space. Those aren't the best songs for weddings though. My favorite song at a wedding is the song that YOU chose, because it connects to something special in your life. When your guests understand that connection and they react on that first needle drop because they "get it" those are the most satisfying moments.
